Description of CID Bio-Science:

CID Bio-Science, Inc., has been designing instruments for agricultural and environmental research for over 25 years. Established in 1989 with the introduction of our state-of-the-art handheld photosynthesis system, CID Bio-Science has expanded to develop 13 instruments to measure plant function, continuously employing new innovations andtechnologies. Headquartered in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, CID instruments are represented by distributors in 44 countries.

From the beginning, CID has maintained a commitment to superior product innovation, superior customer service, and superior value. Researchers around the world have continually turned to CID Bio-Science to provide the world's finest portable instruments for plant science research.

CID Bio-Science specializes in creating light, compact instruments that are fully functional on-site, providing data on demand with no need for lab analysis. CID's field instruments are used to research photosynthesis, canopy structure, leaf area, spectroscopy, and root function.

CID Bio-Science provides you with plant science tools that work where you work, and go where you go.

Brief description of instruments:

110: The CI-110 Digital Plant Canopy Imager measures Leaf Area Idex using an auto-leveling image capturing probe and arm with 24 PAR sensors, built-in USB interface for tablet computer, and software.
202: The CI-202 Portable Laser Leaf Area Meter uses advanced laser technology to allow researchers a precise and convenient way to measure leaf area (or the areas of leaf-like objects).
203: The CI-203 Laser Leaf Area Meter is a portable, easy-to-use device that measures the area, length, width, and perimeter of a leaf.
340: The CI-340 Handheld Photosynthesis System is a field-ready, lightweight and portable gas exchange monitoring instrument that is easy to operate in the lab or the field.
600: The CI-600 In-Situ Root Imager takes non-desctructive, high-resolution digital color images of roots while they are living in soil.
710: The CI-710 Miniature Leaf Spectrometer measures light transmission, absorption, and reflection of leaves non-destructively.
800: The CI-800 Programmable LED Experimentation System is a LED light bar with a fully customizable lighting schedule designed for plant growth racks and chambers.

Full description of instruments:

110: The CI-110 Plant Canopy Imager enables users to capture wide-angle plant canopy images and estimate Leaf Area Index and Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) levels from a single canopy scan. Lightweight (500 grams) and fast, the CI-110 revolutionizes data collection for forest management, crop science and environmental research!
202: The CI-202 Portable Laser Leaf Area Meter is a palette-style leaf meter that measures leaf area, length, width, and perimeter, counts voids, and calculates geometric shape factor and aspect ratio. The CI-202 is easy to use right out of the box and measurements are accurate, precise and repeatable. The CI-202 can perform for hours at a time in the field, and data is easily transferred to a computer with the supplied USB connector. The CI-202 is virtually maintenance free with no servicing required under normal conditions.
203: The CI-203 Laser Leaf Area Meter non-destructively measures leaf area, length, width, and perimeter, counts voids, and calculates geometric shape factor and aspect ratio. A leaf image is reconstructed from the scanner data, providing verification of the scan quality in the field. The CI-203 can perform for hours at a time in the field, and data is easily transferred to a computer with the supplied USB connector. The CI-203 is virtually maintenance free with no servicing required under normal conditions.
340: The CI-340 Handheld Photosynthesis System is a compact photosynthesis analyzer contained in a single, handheld chassis. Everything required to measure photosynthesis, transpiration, stomatal conductance, PAR and internal CO2 is conveniently included in one easy to operate instrument.
600: The CI-600 In-Situ Root Imager is a root scanning system that takes non-destructive, high-resolution digital color images of roots, root hairs, and mycorrhizae in the soil, and enables observation of root growth and behavior over time.
710: The CI-710 Miniature Leaf Spectrometer is a portable device that measures light transmittance, absorbance, and reflectance of leaves. Light is detected by this full visible-range spectrometer as it interacts with the leaf. The included SpectraSnap! software allows researchers researchers to analyze multiple, discrete peaks across a spectrum of 400-950 nm and rapidly estimates vegetation properties with indices including: Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Anthocyanin Re ectance Index (ARI), Plant Senescence Re ectance Index (PRSI), Water Band Index (WBI), and many more.
800: The CI-800 Programmable LED Experimentation Station is designed for plant growth rooms and retrofits of environmental growth chambers, replacing fluorescent lighting designed for general illumination rather than plant growth. Strong on blue light, but weak in the critical red region, fluorescent tubes do not deliver targeted light for plant growth. Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) is supplied by LEDs with spectral output matching the absorption peaks of blue and red photoreceptors in plants. Supplemental white LEDs are also integrated into the light bar to view plants in natural light. The blue and red intensities can be independently controlled with the supplied LightSnap!© software. Experimental and routine plant growth light recipes can be uploaded to the control unit via Wi-Fi.
